It’s John Florence and you’re beginning to get excited.

Every humanoid in the surfing stratosphere is well aware that John is currently out of action after a nasty landing in a Quiky Pro Expression Session. What that means is that the  footage featured here, shot and cut together by John’s main man Blake Blake Kueny, is all old. Trying to conceive of how footage this good could be on the cutting room floor may blow your mind in half but if you’ve seen any of Blake and John’s previous videos than your skulls already in many pieces. Not that you would stop a John vid half way through but make sure you hang around for the last wave of follow cam footage.

This is Connor O’Leary. He’s from Cronulla, he likes surfing and stuff. He’s pretty good.

Darcy Ward’s the name and unearthing new talent with his camera box is his aim. If you surf well enough (Conner O’Leary certainly does) and you see Darcy hosing you down with his long lenses than chances are you’ll end up with a well polished clip such as this.

New shred heads are showing up everywhere these days. This one is from Florida.

All I know about the man, Dustin Richardson comes from the Peninsula Holding Company (creators of the film below) and they say:

“Preternatural doesn’t even begin to explain Dustin Richardson’s movements on water. Picking up surfing at age 14, he inherently paddles twice as fast, catches five times as many waves, and finds pockets of energy in the water lumps around Daytona Beach, FL – where most are struggling to nail that perfect floater. This short is a brief insight into the life (and two surf sessions) of a young man with immeasurable kinetic potential, and a deep desire to find equal footing on land.”

Was a fun night and if you weren’t one of the 14 million people there rubbing shoulders on the dance floor than you can get can vicarious with this clip powered by some very aggressive beats indeed.

Ellis and Jimmy James make some magic at their local.

Ellis Ericson and filmaker Jimmy James spend most their year bobbing up and down around the waters of this right. They’re certainly not the only ones though, it’s a crowed mother father of a wave most of the time. Ford Archbold, Cloudy Rhodes and Al Knost also nab a couple of waves too.

Ryan Heywood at La Casa.

Waves recently sat down with photographer Ryan Heywood to get his expert and hilarious opinions on all things camera, pixel and celluloid. But that my friends is in our next issue, this video below is part of Corona’s La Casa project in which Heywood puts together a collage and gos for a swim. Noa twirling and slicing his way through the warm Hawaiian water this last season. You can define why Noa’s style looks so good in this clip with one word… relaxed.
