Julian Wilson is raising coin for breast cancer awareness again. This time, with a limited edition pair of trunks. 

Pro-surfing zealots would probably know that Julian Wilson gets right behind raising money for breast cancer every time the Quiksilver Pro rocks into the Gold Coast. Previously, he’d auction off a pink board signed by all members of the World Tour. This year, he and sponsor Nike have collaborated to created a limited edition boardshort that will raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The print itself was designed by Julian’s mum Nola, who was a victim of breast cancer back when Julian was around five years old. “At the time I didn’t understand what was going on, except Mum wasn’t around as often,” said Julian at Nike’s press launch on The Gold Coast today. “I didn’t really know, I was just going to school. It wasn’t until I got older and realised how scary it is, what she went through and how strong she was to get through it. I came to a point where I could start giving back and this is the perfect time to do it.”

The Nike store at D-Bah (on top of the Duranbah hill, opposite the Point Danger lookout) will be selling 100 limited edition boardshorts (pictured below) throughout the duration of the Quiksilver Pro. All proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Mambo and Waves had a party at Manly Wine Bar last night. It was a grand old time…

Last night, Mambo and Waves held a party at the Manly Wine Bar, a stones throw from all the action at the Australian Open Of Surfing. Peroni was necked and topped off with Sailor Jerry cocktails and tasty arancini and calamari. People like Erin McNaught hung with sportsmen like Benji Marshall, Michael Clarke and surfers like Kai Otton, Luke Cheadle, Dayyan Neve, Matt Wilkinson and Garrett Parkes. A grand night had by all. Of course, the guys from LifeWithoutAndy were there to catch all the action (hop over to their site to check out the rest of the photos from the night).
