Box And Beers.

Mick Fanning was up early, banging around in the darkness making too much noise while the rest of us tried to sleep in. He was cracking the whip on the crew to get a convoy down to The Box. He was on a mission to bag some keepers so he could get home to his wife for a day or two before heading to Indo for two weeks. To be honest, it was probably a little too big at the Box but Mick and Julian chucked themselves over the ledge on a few mental things and nailed some keepers. Jules snagged one that was captured by the Phantom Camera (shooting 1,000 frames a second). Look out for the big stand up in the movie. Epic! Taj brushed the early at the Box, he knew somewhere near home would be all time. Before we met up with him he’d surfed for three hours with Jay Davies and had already had 20-or-so amazing barrels. It was still on when Mick and Julian paddled out to join him. As the three locked into pits all afternoon, a helicopter hovered above capturing all the madness. We celebrate the day with beers and a barbie. Mick bails before we all get a little too cross-eyed. Thanks for coming. – Ronnie Blakey
