House Of Fun.

We’re posted up in a two story Yallingup holiday rental. The two master bedrooms on the top floor are reserved for Julian and Mick. The remaining eight of us, including five filmers, are squeezed into bunks on the bottom floor. It’s comfortable and nobody is complaining… cept me because I’m the one with my pillow one foot from 17 recharging batteries that are humming off the chain. These batteries feed power to the equipment on hand to capture whatever Mick, Taj and Julian can throw down. The gear is worth a trillion dollars. I ask Beren Hall, one of the camerman, if this might be the most extravagant surf film ever made. “I reckon.” He says. Scratching the Surface will be a grand production. Suits will be a must at the premiere… no doubt.

Day Two Highlights…

It’s a little slow on highlights today. There’s a late arvo sesh at Rabbits, it’s not good enough to excite local boy Taj, but Mick and Julian get involved and lock into some meaty slabs and take some good beatings. But their session is eclipsed by three puppies on the beach, everyone loves puppies. Tomorrow’s forecast is improving and there’s talk of a helicopter. Tomoz, we’ll talk with the film maker Matt Beauchesne. Stay tuned.

One of the boys (we can’t really tell which one) throws up some gold.
