Waves pools are all the rage at the moment and we think they’re a pretty rad concept. If you didn’t know, a few months back Kelly Slater announced that he’s devoting copious amounts of time and money to developing his very own cylindrical wave pool. While there’s been rumours of a working prototype, the guys at Wave Garden have gone ahead and beat him to the gun producing running left handers in the middle of a paddock. Sure, the technology is amazing and the waves look kinda fun but when Jordy Smith is struggling to stay afloat, it gives little hope for the average surfer. This clip below stars Jordy Smith, Bobby Martinez and Roy Powers testing out the wave pool somewhere in Europe.
